What is the source material for the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™ ?

The primary source content for the Caregiver's Resource Kit CDs and the automated voice-information  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™  is taken from Caring Families: How to care for your aging family.  Two of the authors, James R. Cook, Ph.D and C.D. Fernald, Ph.D of the "Family Caregiver Project" at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Department of Psychology served as the subject matter experts and content advisors. As a result of their research, we identified and produced the most common concerns of caring for an aging parent or disabled spouse. They are broken down in the following five (5) Programs of Interest and thirty-two Topics of Interest.

What is the advantage of a Senior Approved Service?

Businesses serving our elderly, the senior, and the family caregiver are presented with an opportunity to become “Certified”. The end result of the certification, would allow the advertiser to state the business is Senior Approved. Their are three levels of certification as Senior Advocate, Preferred Provider and Senior Approved.  The certification of Senior Approved is only awarded to those service providers (or businesses) that have at least a 90% customer satisfaction rating. This standard distinguishes the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™  as a premium placement for senior services and products.

Is there a business for each category of the Directory of Resources and Services?

You can be assured of our on-going effort to build our network by seeking out the "best of the best" businesses to join the Directory of Resources and Services. At this stage of our development, we are aggressively recruiting businesses to join our network.  We anticipate momentum over the next few months to provide a more complete listing of businesses.

What media is used to promote sponsors?

Sponsors logo will appear in all print material i.e. newspaper advertisement, promotional posters, fax brochure, flyers and referral cards, etc.

People will learn about calling the toll free number through targeted advertising in senior newspapers, magazines, doctor’s offices, hospital discharge planners, Senior Centers, faith-based organizations, community social service agencies, and most importantly through word of mouth!

Given the assurance of quality information combined with “trusted” resources, we believe health care and social service professionals will eagerly refer people to the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™  Directory of Resources and Services.

How many people will be exposed to the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™ ?

Piloting the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™  in Atlanta, Ga, Austin, Tx, Tampa, Fl and Mid-Missouri has demonstrated that people will call to get answers to the most common concerns of caring for an aging family member.  Evidenced by the increasing number of calls, we estimate the annual reach of advertiser’s message to a high of over 25,000 households and a low of 10,000 households. This exposure will dramatically increase with nationwide promotion of the  Caregiver's Resource Helpline™ .

What are the audience demographics for seeing  sponsors  logo?

Approximately 75% of those providing care to older family members and friends are female, typically a daughter, age 46-55, with a full-time job, providing an average of 18 hours per week to one or more of her parents. All ethnic groups are impacted by caring for an aging family member.  Characteristically, informal caregivers are better educated and have a greater need to understand the conditions that affect their loved ones. Caregivers purchase 79% of the products and services related to the care of an aging family member.

According to Senior Care Marketer, "the senior care industry is booming and its just getting started as the baby boom generation cares for their aging parents and require care themselves as they transition into their own senior years. People sixty-five years and older represent the fastest-growing age group in the United States, and it is projected that the 75+ population will increase 70% by 2025. By 2030, 70 million Americans will be over the age of 65 – that's one out of every five Americans!"
