What is the source material for the Caregiver's Resource Helpline?

The primary source content for the Caregiver's Resource Kit CDs and the automated voice-information Caregiver's Resource HelplineCaregiver Helpline for Hospitals and Caregiver's Resource Helpline for Employers is taken from Caring Families: How to care for your aging family.  Two of the authors, James R. Cook, Ph.D and C.D. Fernald, Ph.D of the "Family Caregiver Project" at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Department of Psychology served as the subject matter experts and content advisors. As a result of their research, we identified and produced the most common concerns of caring for an aging parent or disabled spouse. They are broken down in the following five (5) Programs of Interest and thirty-two Topics of Interest.

What is the advantage of a Directory of Senior Approved Service?

Businesses serving our elderly, the senior, and the family caregiver are presented with an opportunity to become “Certified”. The end result of the certification, would allow the advertiser to state the business is Senior Approved. The Certification is only awarded to those service providers (or businesses) that have at least a 90% customer satisfaction rating.

We believe this model establishes the Caregiver's Resource Helpline as a premium placement for senior services and products. With so many so many choices, how does one tell the excellent companies from the not-so-good companies?

Limited to three (3) advertisers in each category, callers can rest assured that the certified Senior Approved Service providers are an excellent choice!

Is there a business for each category of the Directory of Senior Approved Services?

You can be assured of our on-going effort to build our network by seeking out the "best of the best" businesses to join the Directory of Senior Approved Services. At this stage of our development, we are aggressively recruiting businesses to become certified while recognizing the consumer-driven survey process impacts a full complement of businesses for your use.  We anticipate building our momentum over the next few months to provide a more complete listing of businesses.

What media is used to promote sponsors?

Sponsors logo will appear in all print material i.e. newspaper advertisement, promotional posters, fax brochure, flyers and referral cards, etc.

People will learn about calling the toll free number through targeted advertising in senior newspapers, magazines, doctor’s offices, hospital discharge planners, Senior Centers, faith-based organizations, community social service agencies, and most importantly through word of mouth!

Given the assurance of quality information combined with “trusted” resources, we believe health care and social service professionals will eagerly refer people to the Caregiver's Resource Helpline’s Directory of Senior Approve Services.

How many people will be exposed to the Caregiver's Resource Helpline?

Piloting the Caregiver's Resource Helpline in the metro Atlanta region of north Georgia, which includes the city of Atlanta, Fulton County and nine surrounding counties, the estimated older adult population is 350,000, according to the Atlanta Regional Commission. Based on a high and low scenario, we estimate the annual reach of advertiser’s message to a high of over 25,000 households and a low of 10,000 households. This exposure will dramatically increase with nationwide promotion of the Caregiver's Resource Helpline.
